Wael Farouk has more than 34 years of experience in investment banking, finance and treasury. He brings a diverse range of perspectives and industry-leading expertise to the Group. Before joining Egyptian Industrial Investment Group, Wael held the position of Treasury Senior Executive Director Egyptian Steel Group for 9 years. He also worked for more than 5 years in investment banks and also joined Majid Al Futtaim Group in Dubai. Prior to that, Wael Farouk worked for 13 years at Vodafone Telecom and also served as an advisor to the Minister of Transport, Investment and Supply.

Wael served on the boards of directors of the Arab Company for Ferries and Maritime Transport, the International Council for Investment and Development of Egyptian Ports, the Egyptian International for Port Services Management, the Egyptian-Korean Investment Council and the Egyptian Company for Metro Management and Operation. He was also a member of the International Committee for PPP Projects and Chairman of the Egyptian-French Committee for Financing Transport Projects.

Wael Farouk received a master’s degree in investment and finance from Ain Shams University and an MBA from the American University in Cairo.
